Ketosis is where your body uses stored fat as an energy source instead of carbohydrates. This process produces molecules called ketones which fuel your body, including your brain. Ketosis can occur through a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet. It can lead to benefits such as weight loss and improved blood sugar control, but it can also have side effects such as bad breath and headaches.
